Nelson Front Trigger Multi-Pattern Spray Nozzle with Flow Control 50116 Review

I had a Nelson “Select-a-spray” for years, it was rugged and I would leave it out for half the winter until I remembered to take it in. But year after year it would work just great! No leaks, and all the patterns were fine. After 5 years, it broke down.

I tried to find the exact one, but they must have disontinued it, so I found this one, Nelson 50116. I have to say, it is almost idential to the super rugged Select-a spray I had for years. The only diffrence if the spray pattern that I liked most was deleted, which was the fan spray, which cleand off soap from my car lighting fast. But oh well, the shower works ok too, just not as forcefull, so it takes more time to clean.

I drop this new one on the cement, the kids play with it, the patterns are plenty, and there is a pressure dial on top to allow watering plants, feather soft.

I wouold highly reccomend this nozzle, I have tried the brass ones, which fall apart with enough drops to the concrete, I have tried the trigger sparys which leak after a few drops to the floor, and pressure is awful, I have tried cheap sprayers, but they fail almost after the first month…

If you want a solid sprayer with much potential, get this.

Zoo Med HygroTherm Humidity and Temperature Controller Review

this is all about automation. If you have a busy schedule and can’t be around the terrarium all the time, buy this.

This goes well with my 25 gallon terrarium and a fogger.

it may seem complicated to program this but its actually really easy if you read the instructions i mean come on there are only 2 BUTTONS on this thing!

the lcd display is always lit which is cool too.

the probe that you put in the tank to measure humidity and temperature seems pretty accurate, i have 2 other independent thermometer and humidity measuring devices to make sure this unit is working properly.

one special note on how it operates:
i set the humidity level to stay at (90%+) when humidity starts to drop below (90 percent) it takes this unit about 2 FULL MINUTES before it turns on your fogger device (THIS IS NOT A MALFUNCTION to the best of my knowledge) but when the fogger is running, as soon as the probe in the terrarium senses that the humidity is met, it immediately shuts off the fogger

bottom line this unit is a bargain for the functions it performs.

a comparable controller that does humidity and temperature available from hydroponics suppliers would be more accurate over this unit however the price of those is generally over 200-300 dollars so this being under 100 dollars is great for automation on a budget!

Victor Poison-Free M530 Fly Magnet Disposable Fly Trap Review

Purchased this trap after ordering and using their smaller version first. This trap works extremely well. Up for 4 days and almost half full. It does have a very potent smelling bait that you definitely do not want right near your area your sitting. We have our trap hung about 20 ft. from the porch and we don’t have any flies where we sit anymore.
The trap is easy to set up… all you do is lift the lid, add water to line and re-adjust lid to expose trap’s holes and hang.
The reason I gave it only 4 stars is because the shrick-wrap holding the trap had split and the item was delivered on a very humid day and by the time I opened the package you could easily smell the bait…. not pleasent…
but we got it outside fast and set it up and now the flies are loving it!!

we have since used 4 traps and have had our first failure! Went out today to se that the “bag” had separated and fallen off the top. The bag had been about half full and we have had twice as many flies trapped in previous uses. I will keep shoppers informed as we think the traps are good but if your going to have a failure 25% of the time is it worth it…. going to order more will keep everyone updated…….
